DESCRIPTION
Resort wear, the stylish and comfortable clothing style, has its roots in the late 19th century. With the advent of the railway, it became possible to travel to holiday destinations that had previously been difficult to reach. Numerous grand hotels sprang up in picturesque locations, and holidays became a status symbol. Light and comfortable clothing developed, stylishly tailored to the relaxed lifestyle in these elite resorts.
As early as the 1950s, there was a trend towards comfortable leisurewear, and terry cloth was a popular material for casual and relaxed styles.
This resort shirt, crafted from finely ribbed terry cloth, combines a clean, corduroy-like texture with the characteristic softness and breathability of looped fabric. It's perfect for summer, as the material is incredibly comfortable and its absorbent properties make it ideal for warm days or after a swim. Combined with the relaxed Cuban collar, this resort shirt offers the ultimate in feel-good comfort.
Thanks to the full-length button placket with six logo buttons, versatile styling options are possible. You can wear it casually open with a T-shirt underneath, like an overshirt. Even buttoned up, the retro shirt remains casual but looks significantly more dressed up.
Whether after a swim or for an aperitivo, this resort shirt with its charming retro aesthetic evokes relaxed Amalfi vibes. The safest and most stylish partners are lightweight trousers with matte finishes in cotton or linen, in white or light, sandy tones. Navy looks polished, smart-casual, and perfectly suited for the city. Chino shorts in these colors and soft fabrics also work very well; but please, no cargo pockets.
