Although the checkerboard pattern is very old, it was only in the 1950s that it was used as a graphic fashion statement and interpreted in a contemporary way. The iconic pattern of Op Art fashion is one of the typical retro designs aesthetically associated with the 1950s and 60s.
The sleeveless vest made its way into the fashion world via sportswear. The sleeveless version of the sweater provides warmth without restricting freedom of movement during sports activities, and was therefore popular for golf, cricket or horse riding between the 1920s and 1940s; it embodied the gentleman's sports look. In the 1950s and 1960s, the sleeveless vest experienced a surge in popularity. For some time now, it has been experiencing a revival as a true "layering wonder" – from preppy to high fashion.
The striking checkerboard pattern gives the sleeveless vest a trend-conscious look without losing its nostalgic touch. A sophisticated, subtle knit structure gives the two-tone pattern depth. Wide, rustically ribbed cuffs on the V-neck and armholes set powerful accents and ensure that the style remains casual – without any stuffy appearance.
Merino wool ensures an optimal body climate, as it warms in the cold, cools in the heat and is breathable and odor-neutralizing. The fine fibers are particularly soft and comfortable on the skin – without scratching.
You can combine this extremely versatile garment in countless ways. Combine it clean and chic with a slim-fit shirt and dark fabric trousers. With a T-shirt and jeans, the look becomes smart-casual. Combined with an oversized long-sleeved shirt or hoodie and cargo pants, it even creates a cool urban street style.

Merino extrafine is softer and finer than regular sheep's wool. As a natural functional fiber, it protects against temperature fluctuations and inhibits odors.

MATERIAL & CARE INSTRUCTIONS
100% virgin wool (merino)
Turn inside out and wash on a wool cycle at 30° C with similar colors or separately. Pull into shape when damp before drying. Dry flat. Iron at a low setting.
